Lufkin Road Middle School PTA

At our first PTA meeting, four teachers received PTA grants for curriculum enhancements, supporting learning across language arts, visual arts, music and engineering/technology.

• Michelle Moore, Instructional Facilitator: Spelling Bee, $299. This grant covers the school’s enrollment fee, plus money for prizes and snacks for participants of the schoolwide bee.

• Jamie Berry, Drawing Teacher: Drawing Starter Supplies, $559.47. Drawing is a new elective for Lufkin — starter supplies include a document camera, colored drawing pencils, cutting mats, and more.

• Ryan Wing, Band Director: iPad for Band Room, $427.93. Enables the TonalEnergy app, recording concerts, and storing a digital copy of music when the band travels.

• Roderick Ferrell, CTE Tech and Engineering Teacher: Catapult Design Challenge, $100. Covers materials for Exploring Technology Systems students to build a catapult as part of a catapult design challenge.

Teacher grants are one of the PTA’s top priorities, and we’re proud to help bring new resources, ideas and experiences into Lufkin classrooms. Thank you to our Lufkin families and community for making this support possible!

Put your name on the Lufkin Lightning Bolt Walk of Fame! Your bolt of support will be painted on the front sidewalk and stay for the year, until the next school year's fundraiser.

This is a great way to help fund student programs, show your family's support, and brighten up the walkway leading to school.
